Folville Junior School

Vision & Ethos

With a change of leadership team, we are taking this opportunity to revisit and refine our school’s vision, values, and aims to ensure they meet the changing needs of our pupils and our community.

We are committed to creating a vision that truly reflects our high aspirations for every child at Folville. This vision will be more than words on a website; it will guide our values, curriculum, and decisions and be realised through our children's success.

Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, we are working together as a school community to develop this vision. We have created an initial draft and are eager to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Together we Succeed

‘Draft Vision for 2024-2025’

At Folville Junior School, we aim to create a warm, nurturing, and inclusive community of which children and adults are proud to be a part. We want to provide a safe environment where every child feels that they belong, are valued and respected, enabling them to fulfil their potential.

Our commitment at Folville Junior School is to deliver excellence in education for all our children, fostering a love of learning and encouraging curiosity. We guide our children to make positive choices to set them on the road ahead for lifelong success.

Character Muscles

Folville’s Character Muscles is an established approach to using language within school to engage, empower, and encourage children’s self-development.

Folville has identified 24 Character Muscles to develop across the school, grouped into 4 broad categories, or Journeys: Self, Others, Learning and World.

The individual ‘muscles’ are all actions that any pupil can take for themselves and are not dependent on the skill of the child. Meaning that children are recognised for their effort rather than their natural ability.
